Information Technology Manager/Senior Database Developer

The Professional Bowlers Association is looking for an Information Technology Manager to plan, direct and coordinate the development, implementation, deployment and operation of information systems and technology solutions to meet our business needs. Overseeing a team consisting of a web developer, application developer and tour network administrator, the IT Manager also plays a critical, hands-on role in software and database development.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive IT support including all software development, hardware, phones, and equipment management for both the Seattle headquarters and national PBA Tour
  • Design, configure, monitor and maintain the company WAN network
  • Design, spec, purchase and configure servers to insure sufficient capacity for company needs
  • Monitor and protect the integrity and privacy of the company’s data and its IT infrastructure; install, configure, maintain, update and monitor: VPN/Firewall, spyware, anti-virus, anti-spam; and hardware and software components of data backup system
  • Train and assist staff, at all levels, to allow for efficient use of company technology
  • Provide vision and evangelize new or necessary technology to executive staff
  • Foster, manage & maintain relationships with vendors and outsourced partners
  • Provide leadership in any technology related area where a need is not being met

Education and Experience

  • CS, IS or MIS degree from an accredited college/university or comparable experience
  • Demonstrated aptitude in C#, Microsoft .NET Framework (version 3.0 or higher), WinForms, ASP.NET, web service (or WFC) programming, SQL Stored Procedures (TSQL), query optimization and database maintenance
  • Preference given to candidates with experience using Cascading Style Sheets (CSS), JavaScript and AJAX programming techniques
  • Minimum of five years experience in comparable position or responsibilities
  • Demonstrated experience in technology budgeting
  • Experience in leading a team of technology professionals
  • Ability to define technology team roles and perform hiring tasks
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively with staff, peers, management and third parties
  • Ability to match technology solutions to corporate goals while managing costs to budget
