Regional Players Invitational Announcement
The 2010 Regional Players Invitational, presented by the Sands Regency Casino Hotel, is one of two PBA Regional Tour Majors open exclusively to non-exempt PBA members. The 2010 RPI will be held at the National Bowling Stadium in Reno, Nev., December 14-16.

The tournament is open to non-exempt PBA members who are among the top 25 point leaders of any PBA region, PBA senior members who finished among the top five on the senior point list in any region and PBA senior members who qualified in the top eight from any senior RPI qualifying tournament.

Any PBA member listed among the top 25 point leaders in more than one region will remain on the list where he or she has the highest placement and will be removed from other RPI point lists. In the event of a tie for point list position, the highest point value will be used to break the tie. In the event of a tie based on point value, the player will remain on the list of the region where he or she resided as of the date in which the RPI point list began. A final list of eligible players will be posted for each region on PBA.com. For further explanation of this sliding scale please contact your regional manager.

A special senior event has also been added to the 2009-10 tournament schedules in each region. PBA Senior members who finish in the top eight in any of these tournaments will qualify for the RPI. Additionally, PBA senior members qualifying from the senior point list, or the senior qualifying tournament, will receive free accommodations at the Sands Regency Casino Hotel December 13-16.

First place is projected to pay $6,000. The champion will also be “seeded” in the prestigious 2011 PBA Tournament of Champions alongside the “elite” Lumber Liquidator’s PBA Tour exempt players. Seven Lumber Liquidator’s PBA Tour exemptions will also be on the line at the RPI.

Players vying to win one of the seven PBA Tour exemptions must finish in the top 16 positions to receive the exemption for the 2010-11 PBA Tour season. If only six players who are competing for exemptions finish in the top 16 only six exemptions will be awarded and the remaining exemption will not be awarded at the RPI.

Last place is guaranteed to pay a minimum of $350.

Entry Fees
The entry fee is $150 for players who finished among the top five point leaders on any PBA Regional Tour point list ending September 30, 2010. These players are eligible to bowl for the Lumber Liquidators PBA Tour exemptions at no additional charge.

The entry fee for players who finished 6-25 on any PBA Regional Tour point list ending September 30, 2010, is $500. These players are eligible to bowl for the Lumber Liquidator’s PBA Tour exemptions for an additional fee of $750.

The entry fee for all eligible senior players is $500. Senior players bowling the RPI are also eligible to compete for the Lumber Liquidator’s PBA Tour exemptions for an additional fee of $750.
