Tournament News

Ron Mohr of Eagle River, Alaska, won his second consecutive Professional Bowlers Association Senior Tour title by defeating PBA Hall of Famer Brian Voss of Alpharetta, Ga., 211-206.

With a 233.3 16-game average, Mike Henry of Lake Worth, Fla., holds the top spot after second round qualifying Monday in the Professional Bowlers Association Senior Dayton Classic at Capri Lanes.

Trying for his first Professional Bowlers Association Senior Tour title, Dennis Psaropoulos of Lake Worth, Fla., averaged 241.6 to take the first round qualifying lead Sunday in the PBA Senior Dayton Classic at Capri Lanes.

A field of approximately 150 of the world’s top professional senior bowlers, including several of the Professional Bowlers Association’s all-time 50 greatest players, will compete in the PBA Senior Dayton Classic April 25-28 at Capri Bowling Lanes in Dayton, Ohio.

Capri Bowling Lanes has once again contracted with an outside agency to offer $50,000 to the bowler rolling a perfect 300 game in the final championship match of the 2009 PBA Senior Dayton Classic!

Capri Lanes is running qualifiers for 3 spots in the PBA Senior Tour Dayton Classic. Qualifiers will run April 5, 12, and 19. For more information on winning an entry into the event please contact Capri Lanes.

Cash ratio is 1:3. If entries exceed 160 the ratio is 1:4 with a minimum of 53 cash spots.

Motor Home Parking
Parking will be available at the North end of the building. Water and Electric will be provided at a cost of $10 per day; however air conditioning units cannot be run during the hours of tournament operation because there are not enough amps available. All proceeds resulting from the motor home parking fees will be donated to the 29th Junior Masters tournament.

Golf Note
Golf is scheduled for April 24 at Yankee Trace Golf Club. The first tee time is 8:30 a.m. The cost is $39. To sign up, contact Dave or Judy Soutar at (941) 545-3257 or email mssoupy@aol.com.

Special Notice -- Corey Kistner has challenged the senior golfers to try and beat him at Little Bear Golf Club. Fellow PBA member Bill McCorkle has a tournament scheduled for the seniors on April 29 at his challenging par 3 golf course in Columbus. It's a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. (10 holes), prizes and lunch at 11:30 a.m. -- back on the road by 1 p.m. Columbus is just 90 miles from Dayton. The cost is $20 which includes lunch, golf and prizes. Anyone arriving on the 28th to practice for Corey can play free that day.
