Personal: Resides in Double Oak, Texas, with wife Lynda and twins Ryan and Troy… Graduated from Wichita State University in 1992 with a B.A. in Business Management… First Team Collegiate All-America with Wichita State in 1990 and '92… 1992 Bowling Writers Association of America Collegiate Bowler of the Year…Member of Team USA for four years before becoming a PBA member…Returned to the Team USA “Dream Team” in 2008 when international play was opened up to professionals…Nine-time member of Team USA including 2012...Won four gold medals at the American Zone Championships in the Dominican Republic in 1997…Named United States Olympic Committee's Athlete of the Year for Bowling in 1994, '96 and '97…Won gold in trios and team and bronze in Masters in 2011 PABCON Championships in Guadalajara, Mexico...Likes to play basketball, golf, baseball and putt-putt and wrestle with his boys…Would like to be a basketball coach if he was not a professional bowler… Enjoys participating in fantasy football…Lynda is also an accomplished bowler; she is a 12-time Team USA member, and has won three U.S. Amateur championships as well as a World Cup championship...Both Chris and Lynda do charity work for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF)...Won the 2012 AIK International Tournament in Stockholm, Sweden.
2012-13: While not a PBA title, Barnes opened the season with Bayer Advanced Aspirin World Bowling Tour Men's Final win as part of the GEICO PBA World Series of Bowling. He defeated Mike Fagan in the championship match 258-244 to win the $20,000 first prize.
Career: Won Vienna Open for 14th PBA Tour in October 2012...Owns three majors…Became sixth PBA Triple Crown winner by winning 2011 World Championship...One of three bowlers to win both PBA Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year honors…Has won the U.S. Open, Tournament of Champions and PBA World Championship to become sixth bowler to win the Triple Crown…Became the fastest player to earn $1 million in 2005.
